Q&A Time To Celebrate 1K PostsJune 12, 2019
I’ve apparently exceeded 1,000 posts. Given that I was unsure what to do with the site when I started it back in 2015, I’d say that’s pretty good! So, to celebrate, I’m throwing open another Q&A. As with my last one, if you want to ask me a question, simply reply in the comments or use the contact form to drop me a line. In terms of subjects, I’m open to anything. The site, cosplay, writing, LGBTQ stuff. It’s all on the table.
In the meantime, I have a few questions already. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the OWLs Happiness Tour Livestream below.
Done that? Great! So, you will have seen that Lyn asked me a few questions about cosplay. Well, it’s time to answer them!
What do I want to cosplay next?
Right now, I’m working on a new costume. This is one of my own design: a patchwork kitsune. Basically, I want to build a kitsune mask, but with the patterning making it look like it’s been patchworked. The thing is, this is kinda horror movie inspired, so it’s not gonna be as cute as it might sound. If it goes right.
As to other people’s characters, I wouldn’t mind doing another Sonic costume if I get the chance. I’ve done Rouge and Tangle already, so I think I’d likely go for either Blaze or Tails if I did.
What is my favourite cosplay?
Hmm…in terms of the build job, I’d say Renamon. That was by far my most ambitious piece. My sewing machine broke, so I had to do the whole thing by hand, and I’d never built a fursuit before. It was also my most popular with con attendees. To the point that I could barely walk half-way down an aisle without being stopped for a photo. I overheated so much in that thing, but it was so worth it.
For easiness to wear, I’d say Inukai. The facial prosthetic was really light to wear, and getting the makeup done was a lot of fun. As a bonus, we got a taxi to the venue…I didn’t pre-warn the driver that I was in costume.
