Looking For Advice: Patreon

So, I’m going to get right to the point on this one. I’m looking to start a Patreon and don’t really know how to go about it.

The thing is, right now I’m primarily reliant on banner ads to earn income from the site. Let’s be honest though, nobody likes ads. So, I figured it was time to finally make a push at this. Between the website, books, cosplay, etc. I figured that there are probably a few people out there who would be willing to support me.

The thing is though, I don’t know what to do about tiers. The basic tier is obvious, right? You get a listing on the site. But what comes after that? I honestly don’t know.

So, if you have or support a Patreon or two, what sort of stuff do you think should be in the tiers? What’s common, and what sort of stuff do you like to see? Please do let me know.

    1. That is awesomely useful, thank you. Flux is fine for me right now. My income from this stuff has always been such, so I’m used to that. I really just want to move away from most ads. They’re kinda messy, and most people use blockers now anyway, so Patreon seems like a better way to go. It certainly can’t hurt anyway.

  1. I’d suggest spending time visiting the patreon sites of some of the bigger youtubers, bloggers, etc (you know people who actually earn money) and reading through their profiles and tiers. While you probably won’t be able to offer the same kind of rewards straight up it can at least give you some inspiration.
