March 2019 Round-Up

Welcome, one and all, to our monthly round-up! We’ve got plenty to go through, so let’s dive right into it.

Top 5 Most Viewed Posts

As always, we’ll start with the top 5 posts for March. This was a good mix of old and new content. Looking back over the top 5 most viewed older posts (check out my Twitter every Sunday for this) each week, there’s been a lot of love for Sonic content, and that continued here too. So, let’s get into it…

5) A&H Club Volume 1 by Rick Griffin [Graphic Novel Review – Furry / Lesbian / Drama]

This one has been popular since it went live. I’m happy to see that as it’s a great example of a slow-burn yuri romance with adult characters, an exploration of the effects of trauma, and great furry content.

4) Pit Fighters 1 by Rick Griffin [Book Review – Furry / LGBTQ]

And Rick Griffin comes in at number four as well. Again, this is a fun story. Rick has a knack for writing sympathetic characters, and that extends to both comic and traditional novel works.

3) Manga vs. Anime: Attack on Titan / Shingeki no Kyojin

Another old favorite comes in at number three. This was the first post I made in this series, and I’d love to do more of them when I have the time.

2) Sonic The Hedgehog #15 [IDW Publishing – Comic Review]

The blue blur speeds into number two. I find that particularly impressive because it went live on the 20th, so more than half-way through the month. Honestly though, IDW have been doing a great job with the series.

1) Sonic’s Movie Design Leaks!

I had a feeling this would score well. It’s a popular topic right now and I have a far more positive view of it than many. I figured that people would either find that refreshing or want to read it to see what kind of madness I’m spouting when I say I like it.

What’s Coming In April?

In short, quite a bit. As far as anime goes, I have five reviews set up to go live throughout the month. There are some interesting ones in there. Including one that left me kinda divided due to be a great example of its genre but not really my sort of show. There are quite a few book posts spread about the month too, but certainly less than normal. The reason for this is that it felt like the spotlight posts were getting a little overwhelming. Moving forward, I’ll be looking to have a few less of these and more things like author interviews and actual reviews.

There should be two comic reviews. In this case Sonic 16 and Tangle & Whisper 0. I won’t guarantee it though as there were supposed to be two in March but the Sonic Annual got pushed back until May, and there have been a few delays over its run so far. I hope to get both though. In terms of TV and Film, I’ll be continuing my foray into both Star Trek Discovery and Shadowhunters. I think they’re both going to end this month, so I’ll need to find some other shows for May.

Wrestling-wise, I’m loving reviewing OVW, so expect that to continue. I’ll do some predictions for Wrestlemania too. Otherwise, who knows…maybe I’ll start reviewing some other shows too. I’m also hoping to do some Top 5’s for various subjects.

How About My Projects?

Well now, that’s looking fun. For one, I’ll hopefully be diving into the editing for Cassie Tam 4 soon. I’m also planning Cassie Tam 5 – the final book in the series – so am hoping to get that into a position where I can start writing soon. I’m also making notes for my next book after Cassie Tam 5. Meanwhile, I have a few stories under consideration with different anthologies. There’s also an exciting – for me, at least – acceptance for an anthology, but I can’t announce it just yet.

I’m hard at work on getting my website up and running, and the hope is that will be done by the end of April. I’ll be selling signed paperbacks, shirts, and posters. Most of the shirt designs are ready to go too, it’s getting the payment system set up that’s proving fiddly.

In terms of cosplay, I’m researching a few things for a potentially creepy costume. More on that when I have an actual direction for it.

And…that’s about it! So, thank you all for sticking with me. This has been the best month of the year so far for hits, which is really amazing,  Seriously, thank you so much, I’m still in absolute awe that people care enough about what I have to say to drop by so often. You all rock! So, do you have a particular type of post you’re looking forward to in April? Or a favorite from March? Let me know in the comments below.
