Welcome, one and all, to today’s prediction post! Sunday sees WWE run the Fastlane PPV, which is the final non-TV step towards Wrestlemania. With the show likely to affect how said PPV lines up, it seemed like it may be fun to have a crack at guessing how it’s gonna play out. So, here we go.
WWE Title Match
Daniel Bryan vs. Kevin Owens
This was originally going to be Daniel Bryan against Kofi Kingston, but the match got switched. Now, the rumour is that Bryan vs. Owens was going to take place at Wrestlemania, but the decision was made to switch the matches after the response to Kofi’s recent run. So, with that being the case, this one seems pretty obvious: Daniel Bryan retains.
WWE Smackdown Women’s Title Match
Asuka vs. Mandy Rose
I honestly can’t see why they’d have Asuka have a short title run. As such, there’s not much to say about this other than that I can’ see any other result than: Asuka retains.
WWE Smackdown Tag Team Title Match
The Usos vs. Shane McMahon & The Miz
Now, this is an interesting one because there have been rumours of a Shane McMahon vs. Miz match for a long while now. Throwing in that this is going to take place in front of the Miz’s hometown crowd and his Dad makes it seem like a hometown win is a dead cert. Honestly though? The way I see it going is The Usos taking on The Hardy Boyz at Wrestlemania, and Miz and Shane going on-on-one. So, my prediction is: The Usos retain.
WWE Raw Tag Team Title Match
The Revival vs. Ricochet & Aleister Black vs. Chad Gable & Bobby Roode
I don’t actually feel like there’s a clear advantage to any team in this match. All things considered, I can see the champs losing the belts here though. My guess: Ricochet & Aleister Black win the belts.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match
Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. Nia Jax & Tamina
Sadly, I kinda expect this be a passable match but nothing more. I mean, there’s no real reason for a title switch, so I’m gonna go with: The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection retains.
Six Man Tag Team Match
The Shield vs. Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre & Bobby Lashley
With Dean Ambrose on his way out, he seems like the perfect fodder to take the fall here, doesn’t he? What throws that up I the air is that it’ll be Reigns’ first match back since his battle with Leukemia, and they may not want him to start off with a loss. The thing is, with Seth already set to take on Lesnar, I could easily see Ambrose ending up in a match against Reigns at Wrestlemania. So, I’m gonna go with: Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre & Bobby Lashley win.
Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair
If Becky wins, she gets added to the WrestleMania Raw Women’s Title Match
This one will be a great match, but the result is obvious, right? I still kinda want to see Asuka vs. Charlotte and Becky vs. Ronda rather than a 3-way, but: Becky Lynch wins.
Kick-Off Show Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade
It seems strange seeing Rey listed in a Kick-Off Show Match, doesn’t it? I think that this will lead into a rematch at Wrestlemania where Andrade gets a big win, but for this one: No contest.
So, those are my predictions. But what about yourselves? Do you agree? Do you expect good things for the show? Let me know in the comments below.
Some good picks there but I disagree on Asuka. WWE are high on Mandy Rose and I think she’s winning on Sunday.

Is entirely possible. That’s another result they could hold over until Wrestlemania though.

Very true ..to be fair, this entire card feels like a stopgap.

A stopgap sounds fair, though I expect some good matches out of it. I’m kinda treating like a match-heavy TV episode but with some effort put in in terms of what amtches we get.

That sounds like a good idea – I have Monday off work so I’m gonna get to actually watch WWE during daylight, should be fun!

That’s always good. I used take the day after a ppv off every time. Too much risk of falling asleep otherwise.

I normally have to watch the following night (work, kids etc) so to be able to watch it in my own time and not around life commitments is good.
Wish I could do the same for ‘Mania, but alas I don’t think I can get the time off work.

Yeah, it’ll be the same for me. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to watch a PPV live, or even close to. ‘Mania still likely be no different.
