January 2019 Round-Up

Welcome, one and all, to this months’ round-up post! My January month off basically resulted in me…not really having a month off. No rest for the blogging community, eh? Still, despite some continued strife for me outside the online world, things are looking up here. As always, let’s start with…

TOP 5 MOST VIEWED POSTS IN JANUARY 2019

5) The Post by Kevin A Munoz [Book Spotlight – Dystopian Thriller]

There were a lot of book spotlight posts this month, so it makes sense that one of them made it in, in? If you like dystopian thrillers though, it may be worth a look-in.

4) Sonic the Hedgehog #12 [IDW Publiching] – Comic Review

The IDW Sonic posts always seem to do well. That makes me happy because I love doing them, and have been an absolute blast with the series so far.

3) Manga vs. Anime: Attack on Titan / Shingeki no Kyojin

This is where we start seeing the usual suspects jump in. This one has always been popular, and it’s rare for it not to be in the Top 5.

2) A&H Club Volume 1 by Rick Griffin [Graphic Novel Review – Furry / Lesbian / Drama]

Now, I love this comic. What really interests me right now though is that it is actually the post of mine that comes highest on Google in terms of page position for certain search terms. According to Google Search Console, it actually comes up as the 4th post if you search for ‘lesbian furry’.

1) MEN+MONSTERS by Aero Zero [Comic Review – Bara / Gay Monsters / Erotica]

It’s LGBT History Month here in the UK this month, so I’m glad to see this one score highly. Here’s hoping it continues.

But of course, there were plenty of posts to read through in January. So, let’s have a look at the…

COMPLETE ROUND-UP OF JANUARY 2019 POSTS

But enough about the past. I mean, it’s February now, right? So let’s have a look at…

WHAT’S COMING IN FEBRUARY?

Well, we’re going to see a return of the anime posts this month. First up, there are a bunch of reviews spread across the month. Currently queued up are Armed Girl’s Machiavellism, Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card Saga, and Vatican Miracle Examiners. There are others in the pipeline too, but they’ll be for March. I’m also looking to do an OWLS post this month, so it’ll be nice to get back on track with that.

In terms of film and TV content, I’m going to start doing a ‘quick thoughts’ style post for Star Trek Discovery Season Two. I’ve been a fan of the franchise since childhood, and really enjoyed season one of the Netflix show. Now, I’m a little behind, so expect me to catch up relatively quickly so that I can get weekly posts up with each new episode. First will be a single post to cover episodes one and two, then we’ll start with single episodes form three onwards.

I also want to do some more film reviews. I have one to write up on The Predator, but I’m not sure if it’ll be full-length, or another quick thoughts post. I also want to review Venom when my copy arrives.

Comic posts will continue with the Sonic comic, but we also have another review of Aero Zero’s work coming up for Valentine’s Day. Meanwhile, we should also see some video game content. At the very least, I want to get a review of the Resident Evil 2 Remake up.

There will be plenty of book spotlight posts, of course, and at least one top 5 this month. Also, expect a new feature next week based around the furry fandom. The post also ties in with LGBT History Month, and I really want to try to make it a monthly series if I can. Oh, and I’ll also be running a new series called you asked me what? This will cover the questions I was asked last year to start with but I’ll be open to answering more too.

And what about my other projects? Well, it’s all about the writing this month!

WRITING UPDATE

I’m doing a blog tour for The Cassie Tam Files this month. That means that the series as it stands will be featured on around 50 blogs, and thee will be a few guest posts too. I’ll be sharing the guest posts for anyone that’s interested too. Meanwhile, I’ve submitted the next TWO books to the publisher for consideration. That includes a novella from the POV of Cassie’s girlfriend Lori, and the next mainline book in the series.

On the short story front, I have a few under consideration with different places. I may post one or two here if I can’t find homes for them too. I also need to complete work on The Spark Form Chronicles 4 and work on the rewrites for the Simon Teller books.

And that’s about it! Let me know in the comments below if there was anything you really enjoyed last month, or if there’s something you’re looking forward to this month 🙂
