What Did I Play In May

Welcome, one and all, to my latest gaming diary! May has been a fun month for me gaming-wise. Okay, so I didn’t play that many games really, but what I did play was great fun. So, let’s take a look …

Shantae ½ Genie Hero: Friends To The End (Xbox One S)

So … DLC. I suspect this will be the last DLC I buy for the game, as I really don’t fancy the alternate costume packs, even if they do change the gameplay. This at least was a whole new game. It’s plays a little like Lost Vikings, if any of you remember that. Anyway, I finished it in a little over two hours. I would have rather it was longer, but what there was of it was a fund addition to what was already an excellent game.

Sonic Unleashed (PS3)

I continued to push my way through this one, and made it all the way to the final boss before disaster struck. You see, Sonic developed a habit of moving without me pressing anything. I thought that I may have been doing something wrong, or that the pad was sensitive but … when I placed the pad on the floor, he continued to move. So, I’m thinking my official wireless controller is breaking. Anyway, I switched to a wired third-party controller instead and finished the game. Now that I’ve finished it, I can honestly say that it was well wroth sticking with. Not as refined as some of the more recent games, but definitely fun.

Star Fox Adventures (Gamecube)

My current project at the AllGen Gaming Centre. I’m continuing to enjoy this one too. I’m now at the 50% mark. It’s going to take me an eternity, but I am determined to finish it.

Sonic Forces (Xbox One S)

I figured it was time that I made some headway into the final two achievements left to unlock in the game for me: collect 50,000 rings and collect 100,000 rings. I finished the first of those and figured out where I could farm the rest pretty easily. That wasn’t my big achievement though. Check this out:

Yup! I broke the top 100 in the world with a speed run on Imperial Tower. That’s actually one of my favourite levels in any Sonic game ever. Great music, fun to play, and just plain enjoyable. The funny thing was, I wasn’t expecting to improve on my time at all when I loaded it up. But I shaved ten seconds off. Dead happy there.

And … that’s about it for my main gaming at the moment. What about all of you? What are you playing? What do you think of the games I’m getting stuck into? Let me know below!

      1. I have only played it for a couple of hours thus far. According to How Long To Beat you can complete the game in around seven hours.
