Welcome, one and all, to this month’s predictions post! It’s time for one of the biggest wrestling events of the year, with Wrestlemania 34 just around the corner. Now, I did brilliantly in my last WWE predictions post. This time around though? I’m not so sure. Still, there’s nothing quite like a challenge, eh?
So, here are my predictions.
Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
This is one of the throw-away matches designed to get everyone on the show. My guess would be that the final participants are Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Woken Matt Hardy and Goldust. As to a winner, I want to say Matt Hardy, but there’s always the potential of some Bray Wyatt shenanigans to prevent that. I’ll stick with it though and say that Woken Matt Hardy take it.
Wrestlemania Women’s Battle Royal
Again, a throw-away match that’ll get everyone on the show and likely build maybe one story. I’ll say that Sasha Banks wins, lastly eliminating Bayley.
Cedric Alexander vs. Mustafa Ali for the vacant Cruiserweight Title
I actually find this one pretty hard to call as I think that both guys are overdue a run at the title, and both have done well in the tournament. Cedric Alexander is my pick though.
Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn (Owens and Zayn’s Smackdown careers on the line)
Now, this one is also difficult to call. One the one hand, I don’t expect WWE to book Daniel Bryan in a loss in his return, but on the other hand, Shane is there to take the fall and there’s always the ‘ring rust’ excuse. On top of that, if my Universal Title prediction is correct, then Owens and Zayn would give Reigns some new opponents. But, that being said, who would replace them on the Smackdown roster? They could bring Balor across, but he’s a face. I’m going to say that Owens and Zayn take the win via shenanigans.
Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey vs. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon
This one’s easy. Angle and Rousey for the win.
The Usos [c] vs. The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers for the Smackdown Tag Titles
This will be very good, I’m certain. All three teams are great, and I’d be happy with any team winning. As it is, I see a title change on the horizon though, and am going with The Bludgeon Brothers.
The Bar [c] vs. Braun Strowman and TBD for the RAW Tag Titles
Okay, so there are two things to predict here. The first is Strowman’s partner. Now, here have been a lot of rumours about this, including Rey Mysterio, Bray Wyatt and even Bobby Lashley. I’m gonna go a different route though and say that it’s a returning Samoa Joe. Will that lead to a title change? No, I don’t think it will. I foresee The Bar retaining and Joe and Strowman going on to feud.
Charlotte Flair [c] vs. Asuka for the Smackdown Women’s Title
This will be a great match. Definitely the best of the two women’s matches on the main show, especially if given some real time to run with. I’m picking Asuka for the win.
Alexa Bliss [c] vs. Nia Jax for the RAW Women’s Title
I’ve seen a lot of people saying that this will be Nia Jax’s title win. I don’t actually agree. I think that Alexa Bliss retains and goes on to face Rousey.
Randy Orton [c] vs. Bobby Roode vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Rusev for the US Title
This could really go to anyone in the match. I’ll say Rusev.
The Miz [c] vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor for the IC Title
This is another potentially great match in my eyes. I would think that we’ll be looking at a title change, with Seth Rollins winning and Finn Balor moving to Smackdown in the near future.
AJ Style [c] vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the World Title
Potentially fantastic match, and one that should be given a good twenty plus minutes. I’m gonna say that Shinsuke Nakamura takes the title and AJ moves to RAW in the near future.
Brock Lesnar [c] vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Title
The result here should be in no doubt. Roman Reigns is taking the title, and he’s gonna get a mixed reaction. Brock will wander off into the sunset again, at least for a while, and things will continue with Roman on top.
John Cena vs. The Undertaker
I have loved the whole ‘will it happen’ story here. My guess would be that Undertaker accepts the challenge during the pre-show. The match itself could be good or bad. Cena is usually great in the big matches, but Undertaker isn’t the same anymore. Neither one needs the win either, so I’ll go with a feelgood ending for the crowd with The Undertaker taking the win in a very close match.
And there we have it. What about all of you? How do you see the show going? Let me know in the comments below.
