And … we have another award! The most excellent Raistlin 0903 nominated me for a Blogger Recognition Award. It was his name that first caught my attention, as I’m a fan of the Dragonlance novels, and class Raistlin as one of my favourite characters. As it happens, Raistlin has a great blog too, and the nomination is truly appreciated. So, a big thank you to you!
The Rules of the Award:
The rules are simple.
(1) Thank the blogger who nominated you, link back to their site.
(2) Write a paragraph of something positive about yourself.
(3) Nominate and notify as many bloggers as you wish.
(4) Use the award image.
Something Positive About Myself
Hmm … now this is an interesting little thing to do. While I do occasionally throw out some mock arrogance in the real world, I’m not great at big upping myself in earnest. So, let’s see … I am generally considered to be a nice person. I tend to remain calm, try to look at things from all sides in most cases, don’t really mind if someone has a difference of opinion to me, and I will help people in any way that I can where possible. This is a long-term trait too. There was a guy I knew in high school – I won’t say his name as I’m not in contact with these days and so can’t check that he’s fine with it – who was very good at speaking his mind. It was great because you always knew where you stood with him, and in a way, he reminded me of my Grandfather like that. So, one day, I return to my form room after lunch break, and he’s there alone. He looks at me and he says, “You know what, Matt? I’ve been meaning to say this to you for a while. You’re a nice guy. One of the nicest guys I’ve ever met.” Sounds good right? He did add, “But you’re [expletive] weird,” too though, so go figure.
Nominee time. I’ll try to make these different to the Unique Blogger ones.
