Welcome, one and all, to one of my occasional blogger award posts! This time around, the excellent Matt-in-the-Hat has nominated me for a Unique Blogger Award! A big thank you to matt for the nomination, it’s much appreciated!
So, the rules are pretty straight forward:
1: Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nomination you.
2: Answer the Questions.
3: In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
4: Ask them three questions.
With all that in mind, let’s get to Matt’s questions …
What kind of fictional world where would not want to go? Explain why would avoid going to the place?
This is a difficult one because there have been plenty of worlds that I’ve seen that I wouldn’t want to go to simply because they seem a little dull. Then, there are the worlds that interest me, but that I could never visit because, were they real, I’d be dead before I know it.
So, I’m going to pick something different: The world of B-movies series, Lavalantula. Now, I’m not a big fan of this whole modern b-movie scene. A lot of the ones that I’ve seen are bad in my eyes, and fail to hit that point where they’re so bad they’re good. Lavalantula though … I think that having some of the cast of Police Academy (which I enjoyed as a kid) helped. But, if I enjoyed the film, why wouldn’t I want to go there? Well, there is a danger aspect. Giant lava-spewing spiders are pretty likely to pop up and kill you. Second, there are giant lava-spewing spiders everywhere, and I am terrified of spider. Except jumping spiders, which are adorable. Third, there are giant spiders …
You know what? This basically boils down to the fact that there are giant lava-spewing spiders everywhere. Spiders scare me, and I don’t do well with the heat, so it’s a killer combo.
What was the weirdest dream you ever had?
Oh crikey, where do I begin with this one? It’s hit and miss whether I remember my dreams, but I can usually get a good idea of what happened because I talk in my sleep, and sometimes keep my partner up as a result. Let’s see … there was one where I apparently blurted out that “everyone has the right to sue the toilet, even if they are dressed like clowns.” Now, I don’t have a clue what that dream was about. I can only assume that it was odd though.
What is your favorite movie or TV show? Would you recommend it?
This one is easier. There is one film that I watch multiple times a year: 1979 action thriller, The Warriors. The thing is, I’m not one hundred per cent sure why it’s my favourite. It’s cheesy, campy, and features plenty of characters with little or nothing to them other than their gang outfits. Yet somehow, I just can’t get enough of it.
And that does it for me. Now, onto my nominations … I want to nominate a few different people to my normal ones, and maybe avoid nominating people who I’ve seen get the same award recently. I also rarely nominate the suggested amount. So …
If you want to answer them, my questions are:
- The Armoured Titan from Attack on Titan have challenged you a tug-of-war contest. You can pick five helpers but they must fit the following criteria: They cannot be from Attack on Titan, and each must be from a different show (they don’t have to be anime characters). Who do you choose?
- Woodchucks, also known as Groundhogs, are known for not chucking wood. What would be the best tool for them to use in order to live up to their name and fling some firs with reckless abandon?
- What franchise – be it game, comic, animation etc – do you think should have ended already, and which would you give another run in its place?
Congratulations!!!

Congratulations and I’m kind of surprised to run across someone who actually remembered Lavalantula. It is a fairly forgettable entry in the giant anime horror kind of thing, despite the lave spewing spiders (wow, that really should have more impact and yet the movie is pretty watch and forget).

Thank you. It’s one of those films that I rarely object to being on in the background. Like I said, the Police Academy link below for me, but knowing that I don’t need to pay attention makes it a decent noise maker for me. I must admit though, I find a lot of the giant monster ones to be like that. I do kinda want to see Sharktopus Vs Whalewolf though.

Awesome answers. The one about your dream is weirder than my dreams. Sometimes I ask myself why did I think this lol.

LOL. Dreams can be so odd at times. I like it though. If my brain waves to have a freak out while I’m asleep, it’ll at least potentially give me a funny story.

Yeah it’s funny to read stories like that. I had dreams I wanted to share online. Lol

This comes across more as one of those annoying chain letter schemes than an actual award, I have to say. ^^

The blogger awards can do, but it all depends how you want to look at them. To me, I’m happy someone has thought of me in the context of the posting, so view it as less of a chain mail and more of a friendly posting. A bit like FollowFriday on Twitter but with more interaction. I’m never fussed if people don’t want to reply though, as it’s easy to view them in the manner you’ve stated. For me though, they remain a bit of fun 😀

Sometimes I can’t notice I’m in my dream.

Thank you. Yeah, sometimes it can be difficult to tell. Depending on the dream, that can be potentially quite scary.

Great shout on The Warriors. Only seen it once, many years ago, but I loved it. Did you ever play the PS2/PSP game?

I really wanted to play it, but somehow managed to never buy the thing. I still have my psp though, so if I ever see the UMD around, I may use grab it.

I have the PSP version but have never played it! I’ve played the PS2 version back in the day, it’s good fun. It’s on PSN too, if that’s easier to get hold of!

That may be actually. Will the PSN version work on the PS3?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Not sure – the PSN version is the PS2 version of The Warriors, so if the PS3 can play PS2 games from PS Store you’ll be in look. It’s often reduced to £4.99 too…

Awesome. I’ll give it a look in. If not, it sure someone turn up in my local CEX for PSP.
