Let’s play the Matt sucks at predictions game again! It’s Survivor Series on Sunday, so that seems like as good an event as any for me to have a crack at.
Cruiserweight Title Match: Enzo Amore [c] vs. Kalisto
Let’s be honest here: The result is obvious. Enzo is, for better or for worse, the top guy in the cruiserweight division right now. As much as I’d like to see Kalisto regain the belt, I’m going with Enzo.
Women’s Elimination Match: RAW [Alicia Fox, Nia Jax, Asuka, Sasha Banks, Byaley] vs. Smackdown [Becky Lynch, Carmella, Tamina Snuka, Naomi, ???]
First thing to address: the mystery member of Team Smackdown. The logical choice was Natalya until WWE decided not to insert Paige into the RAW team. Now, it’s all up in the air. Do you know what I’d like to see? Smackdown grabbing a loan of someone form NXT. Can you imagine if Kairi Sane turned up, got beaten by Asuka, and started a slow burn build up to reaching the main roster and going for a rematch? Regardless though, I think that it will be Paige that takes the spot, but RAW will take the win. Asuka is the lone survivor, lastly defeating Becky.
The Shield vs. The New Day
This has the potential to be really good. The result seems fairly obvious though: The Shield wins, with Roman Reigns getting the pin.
Clash of the Tag Champs: The Bar [RAW] vs. The Usos [Smackdown]
This could well be the match of the night. Both teams are awesome, and if they’re given time, they’ll tear the house down. I see The Usos taking the victory.
Clash of the Women’s Champs: Alexa Bliss [RAW] vs. Charlotte Flair [Smackdown]
Charlotte takes the win. That seems the most logical.
Clash of the Secondary Title Champs: The Miz [RAW] vs. Baron Corbin [Smackdown]
I know that a lot of people say this is a hard one to call. A lot of people are also predicting the Miztourage to help their guy win. Honestly though, I can see Baron Corbin going over.
Clash of the World Champs: Brock Lesnar [RAW] vs. AJ Styles [Smackdown]
Boy am I glad they went with this match! AJ is right up there with Nakamura and Balor as great opponents for Lesnar. This won’t go as long as anyone would probably like, and Brock should win, but I see AJ coming out of it looking strong.
Men’s Elimination March: RAW [Kurt Angle, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Triple H] vs. Smackdown [Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode, John Cena]
Do you know what would get a great reaction here? If Shane was to come out before the match, say that he realised how out of his depth he was when The Shield attacked him on Smackdown, and then hand over the captaincy to … Daniel Bryan! How great would that be? Whether that happens or not though, I’ going with Smackdown for the win here. John Cena survives, lastly eliminating Braun Strowman, thanks to a Kane interference. At some point, I also expect Jason Jordan to turn up and turn on Kurt Angle, causing his elimination.
UPDATE: HOW DID I DO?
So … I got all the results correct other than the men’s survivor match. I also got the correct sole survivor in the women’s survivor match. That’s a big improvement!
Thank goodness that wrestling fans were spared from having to watch Lesner vs Jinder.

Yeah, I could see people switching off at that point. While I don’t think Jinder is as bad as he’s sometimes made out, I just can’t see him as a main eventer. AJ at least has a good shot at having an entertaining match.

I think you’ve made some pretty sensible picks to be honest. I agree with most of them, thought I see Miz beating Corbin.
I’d like to see Strowman go through the Smackdown team, but you’re right…Kane is going to interfere….it’s kinda predictable and I can’t say I’m thrilled by the prospect of Strowman vs Kane in the future….

On the positive side to that, Kane is allegedly coming to the end now, so this may well be the way he puts someone over on the way out. If he puts the effort in, he can still do something entertaining, so in that regard it could be good going forward. I just dont like there being too much interference in the main matches.

I agree, too much interference in the main matches does drag them down. This main event could be ruined given the amount of people who could interfere in it (Jason Jordan, Kane, Stephanie, Bray Wyatt, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn off the top of my head)
I think Kane is alright to be fair and (given his history) he always seems to give his all. Still, I won’t expect him to retire until he actually announces it/retires – he’s been on the verge for years and will probably keep popping up a la The Undertaker.

If they all interfere, it’ll be sports entertainment extreme for the whole match.
And don’t forget the guys that never seem to retire like Jerry Lawler.

Well, did you see the TLC main event? I’m not sure I could handle that level of sports entertainment extreme again.
Lawler will never retire – his generation just don’t. He’s like Terry Funk.

Alas, no, I’ve only seen some highlights of TLC. The main event did seem to be divisive though.
Aye, there are a few it there like that. I think Hacksaw Jim Duggan is still going too.

Yeah, Duggan, The Rock N’Rock Express, Greg Valentine…there are quite a few still going.
The TLC main event just destroyed all logic for me. By the end I started to feel like Jim Cornette….
