30 Day Anime Challenge: #6 – Anime You Want To See But Haven’t Yet

Welcome, one and all, to day six of the 30 Day Anime Challenge. Today’s challenge is … An Anime You Want To See, But Haven’t Yet.

This one is dead easy. In fact, I’m going to name two here, one series and one film.

Yuri On Ice

In terms of series, Yuri On Ice is so well known and has been hailed as an absolute modern classic. I really want to watch it. The animation looks top notch, the story appeals, and I’ve not seen a bad word said about it. It’s right there on Crunchyroll. But I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I will. I just have to clear my watch list a bit.

Your Name

Films wise, Your Name follows pretty much the same thinking. It looks beautifully done, and the short documentary that I saw on its creation on NHK World TV really sold me on it. Again, there’s been a lot of positive press surrounding it, and no one has said anything to put me off yet. But somehow, I missed it. I’ll pick it up on DVD or Bluray at some point.

  1. Yuri on Ice was certainly a very good show, and I was surprised at how much I liked it as it’s something completely different from the series that I usually watch. Your name is still on my to watch list as well. It’s still not available here. But I really am looking forward to seeing that film as I have only heard great things about it 😀

    • Aye, it’s not out over her either yet. It had a short cinema run, but not in any close to me.
Yuri had been so well received. It didn’t look like my usual sort of show either, but all the good tried have intrigued me

  2. I’ve yet to check out Your name but the OWLS tour propelled me into watching Yuri on Ice before the year or so I take to get around to new shows. It was really a pleasant shock. I expected a typical sports show and got a hella lot more. Good luck for when you eventually check it out.

I’m surprised you haven’t seen any hate for it though. I’ve seen some people bash it for its popularity.
