Way Cool Wednesday: 26 July 2017

Welcome, one and all, to this month’s Way Cool Wednesday! So, why is this is in the ‘my projects’ week? Well … because I won’t have a HyperJapan posting until I actually go. That’s really all there is to it. Anyway, there have been some fun things popping up on the internet over the last few months. Let’s see what I’ve uncovered shall we?

WAY COOL ARTICLE: DRAGON DISCOVERED IN ICELAND

http://www.snopes.com/dragon-skeleton-discovered-iceland/

Back in April, MoviePilot posted an April Fool’s video to their Facebook page. This video used footage from a 2004 mockumentary, and claimed to show a dragon skeleton that had been discovered in Iceland. In a brilliant moment, they did actually manage to fool some people. The link here confirms that it’s fake, and embeds the video in questions. Great fun!

WAY COOL VIDEO: THE WEIRD SIDE OF YOUTUBE – FURRIES

OK, so with that title, I was expecting a bit of a train wreck. I’ve got to hand it to Shane Dawson though, he does a fantastic job of presenting a balanced view of the furry fandom here. Judging by the comments, it’s actually changed a few people’s opinions too. Well done to both Shane and Kero for this one.

WAY COOL BLOG POST: D TALKS ANIME – DIABOLIK LOVERS

Part One

To be honest, I knew very little about Diabolik Lovers until I read D’s episodic breakdowns. It sounds truly awful to me. Regardless though, D’s write-ups are brilliantly entertaining from start to finish, and I highly recommend starting at part one above and moving on from there. Be warned though: No punches are pulled when dealing with the negative side of the series.

WAY COOL MUSIC: SOUNDS GOOD TO ME BY THEA GILMORE

I discovered Thea by accident years ago. Basically, I was sat in a Doctor’s surgery reading magazines while I waited to be called for my appointment, and I saw a review of her then latest album Harpo’s Ghost. I picked it up shortly after, and found that I really liked her voice and lyrical style. This is her newest piece. Enjoy!
