Way Cool Wednesday: 28th June 2017

Welcome, one and all, to this month’s Way Cool Wednesday! We’ve got a good mix of sci-fi, silliness, gaming and rock music this time around, so strap yourself in, and check out the awesomeness.

WAY COOL ARTICLE: STAR TREK – THE STORY OF THE NEXT GENERATION CREW’S GREATEST MOVIE

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/star-trek-first-contact-1996-movie-story-history-949885

Let’s kick things off with some good old fashioned sci-fi fun. I make no bones about absolutely loving Star Trek: The Next Generation. I also have no issue agreeing that Star Trek has had mixed results when it’s boldly gone into movie format. However, Star Trek: First Contact is a wonderful piece of work. This article talks about how the movie cane to be. Enjoy!

WAY COOL VIDEO: BAD LIP READING – TWILIGHT

This shouldn’t be funny … but then, I wasn’t a fan of the Twilight saga, and I do enjoy some silliness. The weird thing is, I’m not sure I’d be able to hear any other lines if I re-watched the first film now.

WAY COOL BLOG POST: I, AVATAR – DISTANCE RELATIONSHIPS

https://ambigamingcorner.com/2017/05/24/avatar-distance-relationships/

Over at AmbiGaming, we have another thoughtful gaming post. In essence, that’s not unusual; the blog is full of thoughtful postings. This one is a fun one though, that talks about our relationship with the avatars and characters that we play as in video games. Check it out!

WAY COOL MUSIC: POETS OF THE FALL – ONCE UPON A PLAYGROUND RAINY [LIVE]

I am in love with this song. The intro is relatively similar to ‘Two Story Town’ from Bon Jovi’s 2000 release ‘Crush’. I love that song too though, so that’s all good by me. The rest of the track is pretty much a typical Poets of the Fall track; it’s a mid-tempo commercial rocker with a catchy chorus, strong vocals, and some high-quality performances from the entire band.

So, there we have it. I hope you all enjoyed my random findings for the month. What about yourselves? Have you stumbled across anything cool?

    1. Aye, the tone was indeed different. They really made it work though. TNG was the crew I grew up with, so I always get a nostalgic feeling with them. It amazes me how many episodes that I’ve completely forgotten though. Re-runs are good for that.
